HIGHLIGHTS: WHUT, S.A.L.S.A. and Busboys and Poets Community Cinema-DC screenings of SHADYA November 12 and 14. Photos from left to right: (1) Elizabeth Ventura of WHUT acknowledges the audience at Busboys and Poets; (2) Andy Shallal, owner of Busboys and Poets and founder of the Peace Cafe (the largest Arab-Jewish dialogue group in the DC area) leads the discussion with special guest speaker Hadia Mubarak, the first American-born and woman president of the National Muslim Student Association. Hadia recently received her M.A. degree in Contemporary Arab Studies with a concentration on Women and Gender from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. (3)WHUT screening - Morad el-Sana (standing, left), a Law Fellow with the New Israel Fund Israel-U.S. Civil Liberties Program and a law student at the Washington College of Law (American University), has worked as a staff attorney at the Negev office of Adalah: Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel where he petitioned the Supreme Court on behalf of education rights for Bedouin citizens.
